Sharp Zaurus SL-5500G
The SL-5500 which was launched early 2002 is the first pocket computer
worldwide which is based on the Linux operating system. Before that, Linux could
only be installed on very few devices, like the Compaq Ipaq, which were
originally shipped with other operating systems.
We did evaluate the Sharp Zaurus, and found out that it is in fact a very
capable machine which eventually might be able to replace the famous HP
200LX palmtop from Hewlett Packard.
Please follow the links on the left side to find out more about our products
and services.
Also, please check out our review of the new ROM version
3.1. We installed the English ROM on our German machine and haven't had any
problems or complaints so far.

By the way: In the meantime, Sharp launched the SL-5600 and the
SL-C700 in Japan, and announced the SL-C750 and SL-C760 to be released in June
in Japan. Unfortunately, it is still unknown if and when these devices will
become available in Europe. Of course we will keep you updated here.
